Primary School | Ages 6 - 11

PRIMARY YEARS LEARNING

As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, our Grade 1 - 5 curriculum for children aged 6 - 11 is developed within the IB's Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework.

At our international primary school in Switzerland, we value children as active learners who choose, plan, act and challenge themselves. This stimulates a climate of reciprocity that encourages listening to children and promotes trust, communication and social interaction.

We recognise that collaboration between teachers, children and parents produces positive, productive relationships and we view parents as partners in their child’s education as we aim to create an atmosphere of community and collaboration.  The majority of lessons are with their homeroom teacher.

THE SCHOOL DAY

Homeroom lessons begin at 08:50 and the school day ends at 15:30.  Students can choose to join one of our after-school clubs, which begin at 15:45 and ends at 16:45. We also offer an extended school day service for students from 15:30 to 18:00.

Our family is so happy to have found this school. Our daughter is now in Primary and loves it. She is learning to love to learn and is taught in unique ways in and out of the class. The teachers keep things interesting, they are truly amazing, inspirational and available to speak to. We as parents feel part of truly welcoming community that shares our values and supports us in a very genuine way. Keep up the amazing work ISZL.
