Director's Welcome

Welcome to the International School of Zug and Luzern!

It has been my pleasure to lead our school for eleven years now – through various building projects, a merger and unprecedented growth. I think we can look back on these last few years with great pride as ISZL takes its place among the top international schools in the world. We are an independent co-educational not-for-profit school, from Early Years to Grade 12, serving the international community of central Switzerland with outstanding facilities, engaging programmes, and wonderful teachers. I hope that by spending some time looking through the pages on our website, you will gain an insight into the work, play and learning that go into making ISZL such a dynamic community!

Our school provides a broad and balanced education in an atmosphere that is supportive, encouraging and based on the principle of respect. Increased individual attention can really make a difference to student success, and this is reflected in our low teacher-student ratio and small class sizes. Our challenging academic programme is supplemented by athletics, the arts, after-school clubs, trips, and community service opportunities.

At ISZL, students from over 50 nationalities benefit from a truly international education, including all programmes of the International Baccalaureate (IB), and in the High School the American Advanced Placement (AP) programme. Whether it be in our Primary, Middle or High School, all students are prepared to achieve at the highest level in a happy and friendly environment, with the support and encouragement of outstanding teachers.

As we plan and prepare for the future, our aim is to enthuse, engage and inspire a generation of critically aware, creative and knowledgeable global citizens; ready for the challenges and changes that lie ahead.

I look forward to another action-packed year working with our community.

Dominic Currer
