Student Organisations

Student development extends beyond the normal academic school day. Further learning and emotional development can take place in social and group settings. Social events and other student-led initiatives are vital for the sense of inclusion and the development of a healthy and well-balanced school environment. Relationships between teachers and students are enhanced through participation in special events and initiatives and are an integral component of the school environment. All teachers assist with the student organisations, events and initiatives.

Primary School

An important effort of the student council in the Primary School, with close teacher support, is to develop and promote events and initiatives for the students. Events may be social in nature, fundraising initiatives, or special celebrations. Teacher support is vital for the success of these initiatives and Primary School leaders ensure that teachers offer a balanced level of support.

Middle School

Middle School homerooms, as well as student groups, are involved in developing and promoting events and initiatives. Events may be social in nature, fundraising initiatives, or special celebrations. Teacher support is vital for the success of these initiatives, however students are encouraged to show a certain degree of independence and partake in the task conscientiously. Middle School leaders ensure that staff offer a balanced level of support. Students are encouraged to take initiative and responsibility for the organisation of special events, and through this develop their skills in cooperation, teamwork and leadership.

High School

High School tutor groups and the Student Council are responsible for developing and promoting events and initiatives for the students. Events may be social, for fundraising initiatives or for special celebrations. Although teacher support is vital for the success of these initiatives, students are encouraged to be independent and conscientious. High School leaders ensure that staff offer a balanced level of support.
