EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES 2010-2011
This year we are pleased to offer students a variety of
clubs and sports, which are meant to capture the interest of many different
student groups. Signing up for
these clubs and sports will be an on-line process for the middle school and
will require students and parents to prioritize their choices in case some
activities fill to capacity.
Children are expected to attend clubs and sports regularly each week
once they sign up.
The fall clubs/
sports season will begin on September 6th and end on November 19th.

ROOTS
AND SHOOTS- Ms. Dane and Dr. Abella
Do you want to learn about environmental, animal, and
humanitarian issues affecting our world, share ideas and inspiration, and take
action to create positive change?
If so, then Roots & Shoots is for you!
The Roots & Shoots program is about making positive
change happen—for communities, animals, and the environment. With tens of
thousands of young people in almost 100 countries, the Roots & Shoots
network connects youth of all ages who share a desire to create a better world. Through service projects and youth-led
campaigns, Roots & Shoots members are making a difference across the globe. Founded by Dr. Jane Goodall, The
program is guided by the belief that young people, when informed and empowered,
can indeed change the world.
Roots creep underground everywhere and make a firm
foundation. Shoots seem very weak, but to reach the light, they can break open
brick walls. Imagine that the brick walls are all the problems we have
inflicted on our planet. Hundreds of thousands of roots & shoots, hundreds
of thousands of young people around the world, can break through these walls.
We CAN change the
world.
