It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to the ISZL High School- a safe, supportive, and inclusive community in which students, teachers and parents learn and grow together. Serving more than 400 students, the High School provides a holistic education that focuses on the personal, intellectual and physical development of each adolescent.
Our programmatic flexibility and individualised approach offer all students a pathway that is compatible with their interests, strengths and future goals. Through our Middle Years Programme in Grades 9 and 10, students continue to build on the academic skills and dispositions they have been developing in Primary and Middle School. In Grades 11 and 12, students choose whether to pursue the International Baccalaureate diploma, enrol in an array of Advanced Placement courses or take our career-related programme. Opportunities abound for students to develop leadership skills, participate in a wide variety of co-curricular and service-learning activities, and initiate clubs that suit their passions. Our dedicated teachers work diligently to cultivate in students the skills and attitudes necessary for success in university and beyond, while awakening their sense of responsibility for finding solutions to global issues.
As importantly, we pay close attention to the emotional wellbeing of our adolescents. Our emphasis on pastoral care is the foundation of our entire programme. In addition to our structured and purposeful Personal Social and Health Education curriculum (PSHE), students will readily find adults whom they can trust and confide in, a nurturing support structure and a safe place in which they can grow into deeper and more complete versions of themselves.
A high school must also be full of laughter, dynamism, and fun, a place in which young people want to spend the majority of their time. Our High School is a vibrant centre of civic and recreational life, our community, and at the heart of the expatriate experience.
I want to encourage you to share your insights and ideas, and help find creative ways to enhance the quality of life and programmes here at school. As partners in our collective endeavour to provide the very best for our young people, your perspectives matter. I look forward to meeting you and working with you in the future.Eddie Wexler
