Students in Grade 8 Science have reached the crescendo of this inspirational project! Below we showcase our final ensemble of students' work.
They each built a musical instrument to apply their knowledge of sound. The guidelines were:
- to mostly use recycled or sustainable materials;
- to be cheap to build, sturdy, safe, and visually appealing; and
- to be able to play a minimum of 3 notes of increasing pitch.
Cosima explains how she designed her "tennis guitar"!
Matvei plays his Balalaika, a traditional Russian instrument with a triangle-shaped body and three strings.
Tanja plays her wooden guitar.
