World War I Virtual Museum by Grade 7

Jennifer Zenick

For the past months, Grade 7 students have been working to build World War I replica artefacts for their Individuals & Societies and Design classes. Students were allowed to choose any topic related to the Great War that they were interested in learning more about.

After extensive research, students began to design prototypes and then built a final artefact to exhibit in our first ever ISZL virtual museum. A diverse range of artefacts -- from nurse uniforms to models of the Red Baron’s plane, from Minecraft recreations of dogfights to propaganda posters -- will engage viewers with all sorts of interests.

In recent weeks, our project has grown even more exciting as Language, the Arts and Language & Literature courses have joined in to create other products centred around World War I. All are welcome to come and visit -- and learn from our amazing group of students!

Here is a sneak peek at 5 students' work.
