It gives us great pleasure to share the success of our graduating class, who have received an excellent set of academic results.
Each year, ISZL graduates include students who started their learning journeys at different grade levels throughout ISZL's programme, from EY1 to Grade 12. We are proud of all of them, and everything they have achieved.
Our IB students had another outstanding year achieving an average diploma score of 38 out of 45 points, well above the world average. Nearly 50% of ISZL's diploma students scored 40 or more points, with two students achieving a perfect diploma score of 45. 100% of ISZL's diploma students successfully completed the programme and received their diplomas - this compares to a typical global average of around 80%.
We are also celebrating the three students who were awarded the IB Career-related Programme qualification and achieved the Pearson BTEC Diploma in Creative Media Production as the core component of the award. Two of the students were awarded the level of Distinction for their portfolios.
For the 2022 school year, 98 students took 260 AP exams achieving an average score of 4.0 out of a maximum of 5 points. By comparison, ISZL's average in 2021 was 3.9, with a previous 5-year average of 3.8 points.
The percentage of ISZL students scoring 3 or more points in 2022 is 90%, and those scoring 4 or more points is 72%. ISZL's 5-year average for students scoring 3 or more points is 87%, and 4 or more points is 63%.
This compares very favourably with the 55% global average for 3 or more points in 2021. The global averages for this year's AP exams are expected to be released later this academic year.
In summary, we are seeing sustained high performances with respect to both the IB and AP programmes.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our students on these impressive achievements. Their commitment to learning, hard work, and dedication have resulted in outstanding learning results.
Undoubtedly, our 2022 graduating cohort of students embody ISZL's foundational statements, turning their learning into action to make the world a better and kinder place.
