ISZL Holiday Camps 2018/19
By Colin Walker, Director of Student Life

Some of our community members may have already noticed that the information about this year’s ISZL Holiday Activity Camps has now been published live on our website. This will be the eleventh year that our ISZL Holiday Activity Camps have been in operation and the first one to take place will be the February Ski and Snowboard Camp. The camp will be organised by Ms Becky Hamilton of the Zug Campus. The instructors of the Swiss Ski School in Wengen work with our students every year and for our teachers and students it is great to have this familiarity and close relationship. All student groups will be instructed by Swiss Ski School instructors from the Wengen division, and groups will receive instruction appropriate to their level, be that beginner, intermediate or advanced in either ski or snowboard. Again the camp will take place at our beautiful Outdoor Education Centre, Chalet Bergheim and there will, as usual, be lots of fun activities in the evenings at the chalet as well as around Wengen. Please note that this has become a really popular camp and registration is possible as long as places are available.

Our programme of summer holiday camps is now quite extensive, with camps taking place in the first week of the holiday and in the second-to-last week of the holiday. During the first week, 24 - 28 June 2019, the outdoor activities and sports camps take place. As well as an outdoor activity camp based in the Zug region, we also offer a sports camp based at our triple gymnasium facility in Hunenberg that is based around basketball and volleyball and is for Middle School and High School age students. The Mountain Activities Camp that takes place at Chalet Bergheim will also operate again next June, as will our popular sailing camp.

The holiday camp week in August is a week before school restarts in August. This holiday camp week will again include the drama and art-themed camps that took place last year, with the aim of providing English language and social activities to prepare students for the coming year at school. Further details of the camps in August will be provided shortly.

I hope that those of you who spend the summer weeks in the Zug and Luzern region will find our summer camp offerings interesting. All information can be found on our Holiday Camps web pages. Registration for the camps is done online through the links on these web pages, and registration is now open.
