This handbook provides you with information that will help you become acquainted with the aims and objectives of the school, a brief overview of the curriculum as well as practical day-to-day information.
At ISZL we use a range of up-to-date educational technologies to provide engaging, relevant and authentic learning experiences, often not otherwise possible. Educational Technology Coaches work with teachers to create learning experiences throughout the curriculum where technology is effectively integrated and which helps to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to live productively in an increasingly digital world.
We are committed to providing a caring, respectful and supportive environment for all of our students; this commitment extends to the online as well as the physical environment. In addition to the ISZL Code of Conduct, the Educational Technology Responsible Use Agreement, signed each year by students and parents, sets an expectation for all students to be respectful, responsible and safe while using educational technology. While these documents provide clearly articulated expectations, students will often need to make wise decisions about their behaviour so that it aligns with our ISZL ethos and culture. We work closely with students to promote responsible digital citizenship and use of technology through aspects of our Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE) curriculum as well as other curriculum areas and experiences.
The use of the school network, school supplied accounts, electronic devices and resources both while at school and while not, must be in line with the expectations set out in the ISZL Code of Conduct and the Educational Technology Responsible Use Agreement. ISZL reserves the right to store student data. In instances where there is suspicion of unacceptable student behaviour, as defined in the Student Expectations pages of the ISZL Code of Conduct, ISZL has the right to view the personal data of students concerned.
