Not only did ISZL play a big role in getting me to where I am today, the teachers were incredibly supportive and flexible in what students were truly passionate about.

During my time at ISZL, I enjoyed being part of the Track and Field team, both in Middle and High School. Over the years the team offered me flexibility towards my own training schedule, which I very much appreciated.

Our family, the Pohlens, has been part of the ISZL community since 2012 and we still have three kids at school: Nicola in Grade 6, Louisa in Grade 8 and Martin in Grade 11. Our eldest daughter Clara graduated from ISZL in 2018. We are German, but our kids were taught in England and started their education there. As a family, we enjoy doing sports together, and our favourite is skiing in the beautiful Swiss Alps. We also play tennis and badminton as well as swim, run and hike together.

Education is an empowering process and it never stops. ISZL has given me the opportunity to continue to grow as both an educator and a musician. Education is ever evolving, and ISZL supports that by ensuring that their teachers are always growing and building on their skills and knowledge. I feel valued in my job, that the school I work for cares about me both professionally and personally and does this by investing in my development.

Without question, you want to ensure your children benefit from a holistic educational milieu that is emotionally nurturing as well as academically motivating, where they can also test out and enhance their abilities across a wide range of skills. ISZL’s location here in central Switzerland gives access to an excellent variety of sports and social events that our children have taken advantage of, such as winter sports in Wengen, the Youth Forum Switzerland and service learning.

At ISZL, students are highly encouraged to speak up and regularly present in their classrooms. They also take the stage during the many school assemblies to share information or their projects and interests.

What we appreciate the most about ISZL and its educational system is the way new students are placed directly into an English speaking learning environment, even without any prior knowledge.
