At ISZL we strive to be a healthy, happy and harmonious community in every way. In a dynamic and thriving school community the demands of school life can impact staff in unexpected ways. Caring for ourselves and each other is a shared responsibility between individuals and the school. We aim to provide and encourage a healthy lifestyle for our staff that fosters a positive sense of wellbeing.
The school is a connected community where positive relationships are central to the mission of the school. Practices that establish and nurture relationships between staff, students and parents are embedded into school life. There is a culture of mutual respect that supports our global community to learn and live together in harmony.
Effective HR processes ensure new staff transition successfully into life in Switzerland and the ISZL community. All members of staff work in collaborative teams and this structure provides collegiality and friendship. Regular meetings and events for staff offer opportunities to have professional dialogue, to socialise and to connect with others.
Personal growth and professional development is well supported in the school through a variety of school and external events.
As a school, we are aware of work place stresses and seek to minimise the impact of these through informed decision making and putting in place supportive resources and structures to benefit staff. Staff ski weekends at our chalet in Wengen, an onsite school nursery for faculty babies and free yoga classes are just a few of our staff wellbeing initiatives.
Our environmental surroundings are outstanding. Vistas over the lakes and Alps, fresh clean air, thousands of kilometres of ski, bike and hiking trails are all on our door step and are a great way to clear the mind and refresh the spirit outside work.
Our positive staff retention rates demonstrate that working at ISZL is a professionally rewarding and personally satisfying life experience!
