As spring is upon us, we would like to highlight the risk of ticks and the illnesses that they can transmit. Spring and autumn are the times when the ticks are most active as they need warmth and moisture.

An information sheet about the conditions that ticks carry (Lyme disease and tick borne encephalitis) can be found on the Parent Portal, along with other useful information for keeping your children healthy and safe. Please log in, and go to the 'Health and Wellbeing' section, then click on 'Nurses at ISZL' for more.

Please take the time to familiarise yourself with the common signs and symptoms you would see in the event of an infection from a tick bite. The information sheet also gives guidance on the vaccination and the steps you can take to protect you and your family whilst spending time in grassy areas.

If you any questions we are very happy to try and answer them.
