Current Opportunities

Arts Department

The Arts are valued highly in our school and artistic literacy is seen as an important transferable skill for all students. To get an impression of what is going on in the Arts’ Department and what kind of events and activities you as a parent volunteer might want to get involved in, please visit the Arts Section on the school's website, come and visit one of our student performances and exhibitions, and do talk to any member of the arts department. The Arts' Department would welcome help with the school musicals around the design and creation of costumes and sets, as well as organising the costume cupboard.

The ISZL Sports Booster Club is a non-profit, parent volunteer organisation that supports our Middle School and High School competitive sports teams by promoting sporting events, running concession stands and funding special supplies for our student athletes and teams as needed.
The Booster Club is committed to heightening school spirit, establishing sports traditions and increasing involvement of both students and parents at sporting events. Through the efforts of the Booster Club, we hope to allow all our athletes to excel and enjoy being part of the ISZL athletics programme.

Classroom Parent

Opportunities vary classroom to classroom. Let your child's teacher know you're willing to lend a hand!

The aim of the Country Representative is to:
  • Welcome new families across both campuses, Zug and Riverside.
  • Be a source of information about the school, for new families and fellow nationals.
  • Be a source of information about Switzerland, including events, areas to shop for native ingredients, or groceries, that would be of interest to fellow nationals.
  • Provide information on local services, such as recommended vets, dry cleaners, hairdressers, or teach parents how to use the Parent Portal!

Cover Teachers at High School

Qualified teachers may apply to become part of our substitute teachers who are used to cover our classes when faculty are ill or away. This is a paid position.

Cultural Committee

The Cultural Committee meets approximately once each term to plan initiatives to raise our community’s awareness to the variety of cultures present at ISZL, as well as to promote interculturalism and cultural awareness at ISZL. We are hoping to be able to plan educational events this year, including visiting presenters and workshops, and we hope new members of the ISZL community would like to join our exciting committee to help us with our new developments.

Exam Invigilators / Proctors at the High School

After being trained by our AP/IB Curriculum Coordinators, you are then called upon to supervise exams throughout the school year. This is a paid position.

Fundraising Events

We are looking for people to help the Development Office envision and plan the School’s fundraising events this year. In the past ISZL has held two fundraisers in the spring: a Gala, that included a silent and live auction; and a Golf Day. We’d like a large committee of people who are interested in helping the School tweak these fundraising events so that they are more inclusive, successful and fun! We need people with fresh ideas in addition to people with the ability and interest in volunteering their time, especially in the months leading up to the events.

Library Volunteer

Our libraries are a wonderful community resource. We look forward to welcoming new families and reconnecting with returning families. We are offering Family Account signup, looking at recruiting volunteers for the library as well as introducing the variety of services the library offers. We look forward to meeting everyone.

The Zug Campus Library is looking for volunteers to support in a variety of ways. Volunteers can sign up for weekly slots at the circulation desk, assisting students, staff and parents or they could sign up to support special library events. All help is appreciated. Volunteers are a vital part of the success the library has in supporting students and the community.

The objective of the Parents' Association (PA) is simply to support the school’s spirit! There are many opportunities to volunteer your time and talents with the PA, whether you are looking for a lot of involvement or just help out at one event during the School year. You let us know what you would like to do and we will find a fit for you.
In particular, we are always looking for help to plan and organize our events including Welcome Fair, Halloween Trunk-n-Treat, Winter Fair, Festive Shop, Wine & Cheese Night, Holiday Cookie Distribution, Quiz Night, Division or Class Socials, Staff Appreciation Lunches and International Day.

You can volunteer to be an event leader or just give an hour or two of your time on the day to ensure the event runs smoothly.
