Welcome to the Library

The Zug Campus Library has an amazing collection of over 48,000 fiction and non-fiction books including literature in over 20 different languages. In addition, we have magazines, parenting books, professional books, audiobooks and e-books providing something of interest for everyone.

Library staff are available during open hours to assist students, teachers and families using the library. We are happy to help in the selection of materials, provide training in using our online catalogue “Destiny” as well as checking your materials in and out.

Events

Visiting Authors: throughout the year students and community members are connected with visiting authors from is a wonderful way to promote reading across the campus.
Middle School Battle of the Books: a reading competition between the local international schools.
ISZL Reads: two weeks of literary fun including book quizzes, special story times and a variety of book and reading related activities
Summer Reading: encouraging all in the ISZL community to participate and read over the summer.
Used Book Sale: we host an annual used book sale which gives students and families the opportunity to buy gently used books while supporting one of ISZL’s selected charities.
SGIS Golden Cowbell Award: students read selected books each year and then vote for the winner across several categories.

Library Spaces

Use During Breaks and After School

Throughout the day the library is used for a variety of functions, such as reading, research, creating, collaborating, doing homework, and more.

The library is open to al students and families before school starting at 8:30am.

The Library is open to students in Grades 2 to Grade 5 at lunch break, while Middle School students are invited to use the Middle School Book Mobile.

The library is open afterschool for students and families to enjoy. Early Years and Primary School students must be accompanied by an adult. Middle School students are invited to use the library independently.

Volunteering

The Library is looking for volunteers to support it in a variety of ways. Volunteers can sign up for weekly slots at the circulation desk, assisting students, staff and parents or they could sign up to support special library events. All help is appreciated. Volunteers are a vital part of the success the library has in supporting students and the community.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the opening hours of the library?

The library is open every school day from 8:30-5:00 Monday through Thursday. 8:30-4:00 on Fridays. On early release days, the library closes when classes end.

Do you have books in languages other than English?

Yes! We have a large collection of books in over 20 different languages. Come check it out.

How often does my child come to the library?

Students in the Early Years and Primary School are brought to the library weekly by their class teacher to browse and borrow from the collection.

Students in the middle school have access to the library before and after school as well as during Support Programme. In addition to this there is a small satellite library in the Middle School called the Book Mobile which students can visit during break times.

Can parents check out books for their personal reading?

Yes! The Library has a variety of resources for families apart from our extensive fiction and non-fiction collection, including magazines, parenting books, and a free used book exchange.

We encourage all families to create a family library account. Parents may borrow additional books for their children on their family account or books and materials to enjoy themselves.
