The International School of Zug and Luzern (ISZL) serves the educational needs of the international communities of Zug, Luzern, Zurich and Central Switzerland. We are committed to meeting each student’s needs to the best of our ability. The final decision on acceptance and placement is taken based on the potential of the applicant to benefit from the programmes and educational services available.

Serving Our Community
At ISZL, we aim to meet each student’s needs. Admission and placement decisions are based on a student’s potential to thrive in our programmes. We offer inclusive learning opportunities through the International Baccalaureate® Primary Years (PYP) and Middle Years Programmes (MYP). For High School students, we offer the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP), BTEC, and Advanced Placement® (AP) options.
We welcome students who will benefit from a challenging, international English language education. While our main intake is in August, we accept applications year-round based on availability. Admission is based on academic records and growth potential.

ISZL Inclusion Statement
ISZL embraces and supports diversity within our community, respecting all individuals regardless of age, ability, ethnicity, gender identity, health needs, language, marital status, mental health, national origin, political views, race, religion, or sexual orientation.
Priority Placement Policy
When the school reaches full capacity and cannot accommodate all qualified applicants, we follow this priority placement process:
- The applicant is associated with an established ISZL Partnership Agreement
- The applicant is a sibling of a currently enrolled ISZL student and is applying to ISZL for Early Years 1, Early Years 2 or Kindergarten
- The applicant is a former ISZL student returning from outside Central Switzerland
- The applicant is the child of an ISZL Alumni
- The applicant is an International student not currently schooled in Central Switzerland
- All other applicants are considered based on the availability of educational alternatives and the date of application
Within each of these numbered groups, special priority is given to students applying to Grades 1-12 who already have a sibling currently enrolled at ISZL and who have submitted all required application documents to the Admissions Office by 1 February of the proposed year of entry to ISZL.
Applications eligible for a priority placement category will only be considered once all required application documents have been received by the Admissions Office.
For families seeking admission during the school year, then applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, though families are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible.
