Our enrichment programmes give high school students the chance to discover what inspires them — whether that’s through the arts, sports, academic clubs, or community service. These experiences help students grow in confidence, develop leadership and resilience, and connect more deeply with the world around them.
Through a wide range of activities, including after-school clubs, competitive sports, and special events like the Youth Forum Switzerland and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, students can pursue their passions and expand their horizons. Our aim is to nurture well-rounded individuals who are prepared to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
These enrichment opportunities complement our academic programmes, providing students with a holistic education that encourages creativity, teamwork, and global citizenship.

Community Service
At ISZL, community service is an essential part of our curriculum, helping students develop into responsible young adults. Through a variety of projects, from fundraising to direct involvement with local service organisations, our students are provided with opportunities to gain valuable perspectives on diverse life experiences and grapple with the complexity of finding sustainable solutions to real-world issues.
At the High School, service learning in Grades 9 and 10 takes place as part of our Core: Principled Innovation Programme. In Grade 9, students participate in a year-long course to develop a deeper understanding of their values and strengths, as well as developing Design thinking and leadership skills.

CAS & Service learning
In Grade 10, students are expected to independently organise an initiative to provide support or service to an organisation or community chosen by them or recommended by our Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) coordinator.
Completing a CAS portfolio is a core graduation requirement of the IB Diploma Programme. Over the 18 months of their Diploma, students engage in a wide range of self-selected creative, active and service based experiences. These are intended to reinforce the importance of leading a balanced life, to work in the service of others and to foster an appreciation for lifelong learning.
Students who choose to take the High School Programme engage with Service Learning by completing an extended project designed to make a positive community impact.
By collaborating with others and using project planning tools like the design cycle to plan and implement original projects, students students develop the future ready skills valued by universities and employers.

Youth Forum Switzerland
We believe young people have the power to shape the world around them.
At ISZL, that belief takes form in Youth Forum Switzerland (YFS) — a student-led initiative that brings together the leaders of tomorrow with the changemakers of today.
After-School Activities
Our High School Activities Programme offers important opportunities for personal growth, creativity, and connection.
Competitive Sports
Competitive sports are an important part of life at ISZL, supporting students’ social, emotional and physical development during their High School years.
The Arts
At ISZL, the Arts are a vital part of the curriculum. Through structured classes in visual arts, theatre, and music, students explore artistic techniques, develop creative thinking, and learn to express themselves with confidence and originality.
Duke of Edinburgh
High school students looking for a greater challenge can participate in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Scheme (DofE), a globally recognised programme that encourages personal growth through physical activity, skill development, community service, and outdoor journeys.
