High School Competitive Sports
Competitive sports are an important part of life at ISZL, supporting students’ social, emotional and physical development during their High School years. Through training and competition, students build confidence, learn to work as a team, and grow as individuals. Our sports programme is designed to complement their academic journey, offering opportunities to challenge themselves, connect with others, and take pride in embracing the ISZL Eagle spirit.
Our competitive sports programme offers High School students the chance to take part in a wide range of competitive sports throughout the school year. With regular training sessions and the opportunity to represent ISZL in matches and tournaments across Switzerland and Europe, students experience the excitement of team sport while building skills, confidence, and school spirit.
We’re proud to compete in respected organisations such as the International School Sports League (ISSL), the Swiss Group of International Schools (SGIS), and the European Sports Conference (ESC).
We believe that sport is a powerful part of a student’s learning journey. It’s where teamwork is built, character is shaped, and students learn what it means to win with humility and lose with grace.
Through shared effort and commitment, students develop respect for one another and an understanding of fair play that stays with them long after the competition ends. These are the lessons that extend well beyond the game, and are lessons that help shape the kind of people our students become.
For all competitive sports, we expect regular attendance and full participation. Team selections are based on performance, effort, attitude, and commitment, with the possibility of adjustments throughout the season.
More information about non-competitive clubs and activities can be found here.
