We are excited to welcome new students and families into our diverse community.
At ISZL, we strive to make you feel supported and connected right from the start.
From parent clubs to our friendly weekly Coffee Corner, we work hard to ensure you receive the guidance and support you need as a new family. Our Parents’ Association (PA) are core to our community, offering social connections and a listening ear to help your family settle in.
Information on this page will help you understand the many opportunities, resources, and activities available to help your family settle in and become an integral part of our school community.

Connecting Locally
ISZL has many strong ties with the wider Swiss community, including sports connections and local groups. Our community will happily give you valuable advice on accessing local services to help you make the most of your time in Switzerland.
The PA’s Community Representatives can connect you with a family who shares your cultural background or nationality, and has children of similar ages. This family can answer your questions to the best of their ability — from local services and healthcare to tips on where to find products from your home country.

Orientation Day
All new families joining ISZL in August and January are invited to an Orientation Day at our Zug and Riverside Campuses. During these valuable sessions, you will receive key information about our school bus programme, school nurse, lunches, music, sport, and other after-school activities.
Separately, through a buddy system, your child will be paired with a classmate to help them feel at home on their first day. Your child will get a guided tour, meet other students, and see their new classroom.

Parents' Association Welcome Fair
Families joining in August are invited to the ISZL Welcome Fair, which is held in the Autumn. This popular event is a great opportunity to socialise and meet other parents and find out about activities for parents at school or locally in Zug.

Clubs and Social Activities
Clubs aren’t only for students. Thanks to the PA, there are a wide range of parent-led clubs and activities on offer, from tennis, running, and hiking to the Dad’s Club and Parents’ Choir. Whatever your interests, there is something for everyone — and it’s a great way to connect with others in the ISZL community.
After school, many parents gather at the Snack Attack Shed on the Zug Campus playground. It’s a relaxed space where children can play while parents enjoy a coffee or snack and catch up.
Another favourite is the Coffee Corner, held regularly after drop-off — an informal and welcoming space to meet other parents, swap stories, and share tips about life in Zug and Central Switzerland.
And of course, some of the most memorable moments come from our annual community events, organised by the Parents’ Association and our Community Engagement Team. Highlights include International Day, Community Festival, the Winter Market, Welcome Fair, Trunk or Treat, Quiz Night, and Wine & Cheese tasting.

Getting Involved
Our calendar is full of opportunities to get involved, volunteer, and feel right at home. Whether you’re new to ISZL or have been here for years, there’s always room to connect, contribute, and have fun along the way.
