At ISZL, we provide a range of diverse and flexible academic programmes for our High School students, ensuring that each student can find a path that best suits their unique interests, strengths, and future aspirations.
In Grades 9 and 10, students engage in the broad and balanced IB Middle Years Programme, building a strong foundation across a variety of subjects. In Grades 11 and 12, students can pursue tailored and rigorous pathways that offer opportunities for deeper exploration and specialisation. Our programmes are designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences they need to thrive in a global world.
Grades 9 and 10
A Solid Foundation for Future Learning
In Grades 9 and 10, students follow the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP), a broad and well-rounded curriculum designed to prepare them for future academic pathways. With studies spanning eight to nine subjects, including at least two languages, the MYP provides a strong foundation of knowledge, skills, and understanding.
Throughout the MYP, students engage with globally relevant topics, encouraging an appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives while building essential skills in communication, collaboration, self-management, research, and critical thinking. Hands-on experiences and regular reflection on their strengths and areas for growth ensure students are well-prepared for their future academic journeys.
Grades 11 and 12
Tailored Pathways for Advanced Learning
In Grades 11 and 12, students choose between two pathways to earn their ISZL High School Diploma: the International Baccalaureate® Diploma Programme (IBDP) or the ISZL High School Programme.
Both options offer challenging academic courses that are aligned with internationally recognised standards.
ISZL High School Diploma — Recognition and Opportunity
Regardless of whether students complete the IBDP or the ISZL High School Programme, they graduate with the ISZL High School Diploma. This diploma is recognised by universities worldwide and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), opening doors to higher education and future career opportunities.

The ISZL High School Programme
The ISZL High School Programme is designed to be flexible and broad, allowing students the opportunity to pursue their passions while meeting internationally recognised academic standards.
With a holistic approach, students choose five or six courses per year, selecting from Advanced Placement® (AP®) courses, ISZL courses, the BTEC Diploma in Creative Media, and IB Diploma courses.
This tailored programme encourages students to deepen their knowledge in chosen subjects while applying their learning through service projects and entrepreneurial opportunities, creating a personalised pathway that aligns with their interests and future goals.
International Baccalaureate® Diploma Programme (IBDP)
A Global Education
The IB Diploma Programme is designed to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and compassionate young people who strive to create a better, more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. This internationally-focused programme inspires students to be active, lifelong learners who understand and appreciate diverse perspectives.
It includes both academic challenges and opportunities for personal growth through the core components: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS). These elements help students develop essential life skills and the ability to apply their academic knowledge in real-world situations.
Students in the IBDP study six subjects across various disciplines, ensuring a well-rounded education. These subjects include:
- Language and Literature (Group 1)
- Language Acquisition (Group 2)
- Individuals and Societies (Group 3)
- Science (Group 4)
- Mathematics (Group 5)
- The Arts (Group 6), or an additional subject from Groups 1–4
Additionally, the IBDP offers interdisciplinary courses like Environmental Systems & Societies, and Language & Culture, allowing students to tailor their studies to their interests.
