Multilingual Academy

The ISZL Multilingual Academy

Because Languages Matter

“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.”

-  Nelson Mandela

ISZL Multilingual Academy acts within the Extended Learning Program and here we believe the ability to communicate is central to making the world a better and kinder place. All language learning, no matter what the connection (home, heritage, foreign or fun) brings us closer to others - our families, friends, colleagues, local neighbours…actually, everyone in our lives!

Every individual is unique; we all have our own language journey. At the Multilingual Academy, we know that developing bi- and multilingualism can be complex, dynamic, and challenging, but it is an exciting lifelong process which brings a multitude of advantages. We actively promote the use and development of languages, whatever the proficiency. Our role is to support everyone to take action with their languages so they can achieve more than they believe possible.

WHAT WE DO FOR CHILDREN:

We provide language lessons for children in the ISZL community and other local schools after school in a range of languages from beginner to advanced at our ISZL campuses in Baar and Hünenberg, e.g. Beginner French (CEFR A1/A2) for children aged 7-8.

We are currently organising courses for Season 2, which begins in January 2024. Please watch this space for our January 2024 course offerings.

WHAT WE DO FOR ADULTS:

We provide language courses for ISZL community members at our ISZL campuses in Baar and Hünenberg, e.g. A1/A2 German for Parents and Staff. We are currently organising new German courses which will begin in October 2023 and January 2024. Please watch this space for more information on these courses.

This academic year we would also like to organise other language courses for ISZL community members, such as Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, English, French, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and other languages.
