Reading Initiatives at ISZL

Visiting Authors: Throughout the year, students and community members connect with visiting authors to inspire a love of reading across the campus.

Middle School Battle of the Books: A fun reading competition between local international schools, encouraging teamwork and literary exploration.

ISZL Reads: Two weeks dedicated to celebrating books, featuring quizzes, special story times, and a variety of reading-related activities.

Summer Reading: A school-wide initiative that encourages all members of the ISZL community to keep reading over the summer break.

Used Book Sale: An annual event where families can purchase gently used books, with proceeds supporting one of ISZL’s selected charities.

SGIS Golden Cowbell Award: Students read a shortlist of books and vote for their favourites across different categories in this student-led award programme.

Riverside Campus Library

At the centre of the ISZL High School is our library — a lively learning community where students connect, collaborate, and feel at home. More than just a place for books, it’s a hub for learning, conversation, and community.

Here, students have access to a rich collection of print and digital resources. Just as importantly, they’re supported in developing the skills to think critically, ask thoughtful questions, and navigate today’s world of information with care and confidence.

We’re passionate about inspiring a lifelong love of reading and encouraging curiosity that leads to meaningful learning and action.
