ISZL’S ANNUAL GIVING PROGRAMME
Gifts to the ISZL Fund For Excellence (FFE), provide resources to bolster academic and facility enhancements, service learning, sustainability, arts and athletics.
AWARD-WINNING IMPACT
Since its inception in 2008, ISZL has raised over CHF1.45 million to enhance student learning and develop excellence and impact across the whole school and beyond.
One of our early Fund For Excellence projects focused on sustainability and led ISZL to win the ISC Environment Award 2022 as well as being a top 3 finalist for the World’s Best School for Environmental Action.
ISZL won the International Impact Award in 2022, for its Global Changemakers initiative supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The original project was funded by the FFE in 2018 - the creation of a group of globally engaged high school students who attended the Open Forum Davos in January 2017. Their transformative experience inspired them to organize the Youth Forum Switzerland (YFS) a zero-waste and carbon-neutral event which gives youth a voice in global issues.
Contributions from parents, teachers and other community members enabled students to run this day-long symposium comprising panel discussions, talks, and interactive activities and has gone on to be a globally recognised annual event.
WHOLE SCHOOL IMPACT
Amongst other projects, the Fund for Excellence is supporting the Arts within the primary school to nurture the creative development of the students.
Kirsty Kelly, ISZL Director of Arts said:
“The FFE has been instrumental in elevating my role as a teacher, enabling me to offer enriching educational experiences. Through FFE-funded initiatives, I've been able to create truly exceptional learning opportunities for my students, fostering their curiosity, engagement, and growth. This support has allowed me to develop innovative projects and activities that inspire a lifelong love for learning and make a lasting impact on my student's educational journey.”
The Fund for Excellence supports projects in our primary school that inspire students to explore, innovate and collaborate.

We help Middle school students turn their learning into action, creating the opportunity to stretch themselves further and achieve more than they believe possible through dynamic and hands-on learning opportunities.
