The Arts in Middle School

Step into ISZL’s art studios, music rooms, and theatres and you will find teachers and students passionately engaged in the creative process, celebrating the vibrant world of music, theatre, and visual arts.

Our Middle School arts programme lays the foundation for imagination and exploration, encouraging students to “stretch themselves further and achieve more than they believe possible,” as guided by our school vision. The arts create a safe space for students to take risks, embrace challenges, and experience the joys — and occasional frustrations — of bringing new ideas to life.

Tools for Growth

Through the arts, students gain insight into their cultural traditions while developing respect for the diverse perspectives and artistic expressions of others. Whether composing music, designing stage productions, or interpreting visual works, students in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) acquire powerful tools for communication, self-expression, and personal growth.

Beyond the Classroom

Beyond the classroom, students can deepen their artistic talents through after-school activities, seasonal performances, concerts, and musicals, including productions such as SpongeBob: The Musical. These opportunities provide a strong foundation for students who choose to pursue the arts in High School and beyond, as well as helping students refine their skills, collaborate with peers, and build confidence in performance and presentation.

The ISZL Music Academy offers instrument lessons beyond the core curriculum. Our team of professional music educators provides lessons after school on the Zug campus, from Monday to Friday. Parents can learn more on our Parent Portal.
