Welcome from Primary School Principal

Welcome to the Zug Campus at ISZL, a thriving and connected learning community where your child and family will experience a sense of belonging, through friendship and the joy of working, playing and learning together.

Our campus serves the educational needs of over 800 students between the ages of 3 and 14 years, offering a Primary School (Early Years 1 to Grade 5) and Middle School (Grade 6 to Grade 8).

We are dedicated to our mission of supporting the development of each child in a climate of respect and care, where students are motivated and self directed learners who achieve success and who have the confidence to embrace challenges.

As an authorised International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, our philosophies and teaching and learning programme are underpinned by the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). Our students view the world through the lens of a rigorous international curriculum which embraces an inquiry learning approach, encourages active participation and develops personal attributes through the IB Learner Profile. Opportunity to experience a wide variety of extracurricular activities enhances learning beyond the classroom. This results in balanced, knowledgeable and skilled young people who are prepared and can contribute positively to the local and global communities to which they belong.

Our programme is enhanced by passionate and dedicated teachers and support staff, and valued and informed parents who are partners in their child’s educational journey. Positive and productive relationships, open communication and respect for diversity ensure a community that is focused on the learning needs and wellbeing of each student.

The charming and historical Zug Campus is nestled in the surrounding hills and forests of Baar, just on the outskirts of Zug. This environment provides further opportunity for students to explore concepts linked to the natural environment and to reflect on their responsibility for its sustainability.

I look forward to personally welcoming you to our school and sharing the exceptional educational opportunities that abound at ISZL. Please contact me should you have any queries.

Welcome from Middle School Principal

I would like to extend a warm welcome to the Middle School, where we are committed to providing young adolescents with the care, skills, attitudes and opportunities required for success and fulfilment.

Our curriculum is designed to maintain internationally recognised standards of academic learning in a caring and stimulating environment, enabling each student to reach his or her potential. The safe and secluded environment of the Zug campus is an ideal location to provide a range of exciting and stimulating experiences within a caring atmosphere for our Grade 6, 7 and 8 students.

Young adolescents need a supportive learning environment in order to understand themselves and their current and future roles in society. Therefore, at this time of rapid intellectual and personal change we strive to provide a challenging and comprehensive subject based programme that will equip students with the skills and attitude to succeed in Grade 9 and beyond.

Student council, a wide range of sports teams, choir and our out-reach initiative in Nepal are just some of the opportunities in which our students can become involved, develop leadership skills and ‘make a difference'. The International Award Scheme (community service, activities and expeditions) with its focus on confidence building, taking responsibility and self-reliance is a highlight of Middle School life and we are very proud of the number of Grade 8 students who achieve this internationally recognised award.

It is a delight to see our students making full use of the all-weather sports field, indoor climbing wall, basketball courts and the ample outdoor play areas at break times and after school. The combination of academic study, enrichment opportunities and outdoor play in the beautiful natural surroundings of Zug encourages the development of healthy and well balanced students within a happy and vibrant school.
