Leadership and Governance
The International School of Zug and Luzern (ISZL) is a non-profit foundation under Swiss law, approved by the educational authorities of Zug and Luzern.
Our structure ensures every franc of our operating surplus is reinvested directly into our school to support our mission and students. In a non-profit foundation, the tension between purpose and profit disappears.
Our commitment is simple: tuition supports innovation, which drives student impact and cycles directly back into the school. What matters to our leadership is, “Will this improve our students’ learning and wellbeing?”. This allows us to invest in deeply valuable programmes, such as wellbeing initiatives, specialised learning support, Personal Development Weeks (PDWs) and the Arts.
For our families, a non-profit foundation offers a reliable kind of stability. This continuity protects our culture, supports consistent leadership, and allows for long-term decisions that prioritise students over quarterly results. It also creates a meaningful approach to philanthropy, where families know exactly how their contributions build infrastructure for the future.
Our Board of Trustees plays an important role in upholding our Mission and Vision. Each member is committed to supporting the best interests of our students, staff, and the entire ISZL community. The Board not only appoints the school’s Director but also ensures our financial well-being and guides our future growth.
